Ecumenism

The Parish recognises the importance of developing its relationships with Christian and other Faiths and the local community in general.

  • We participate in the Churches Together in Hemel Hempstead organisation which itself promotes a strong ecumenical presence in the town

  • Our parishioners are particularly involved with the running of and support for the shelter and day centre for the homeless: Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (D.E.N.S.)

  • Members of the parish join with other Churches and organisations in the Good Friday Procession of Witness, a very visual event in the town centre

  • We support Pray Hemel – a monthly (first Saturday morning of the month) group which meets at a different Church each month to pray for the town and community and to get to know each other better

  • We provide hospital visitors and the Knights of St Columba and the Catholic Women’s League are regularly involved in community activities

  • We welcome new opportunities to increase our involvement with ecumenical activities in the area
