A Message from Bishop Paul McAleenan to the Parish of Hemel West

Dear Parishioners of Hemel Hempstead West

Thank you for your support of your parish and the Church. Fr Brian McMahon, due to current and continuing health issues, has retired as Parish Priest of SS Mary and
St Joseph & St Mark’s, Hemel Hempstead West.  I appreciate that this is difficult news for you to receive. We acknowledge all that Fr Brian has undertaken and achieved in his time as your Parish Priest. At present Fr Brian remains in a Care Home where his medical condition and needs are being assessed.

To ensure that your parish is adequately provided for in this interim period Fr Kim Addison has been appointed Parochial Administrator of Hemel Hempstead West while remaining Parish Priest of Hemel Hempstead East.  As Parochial Administrator, Fr Kim will have responsibility for all aspects of the life and work of your parish.

We are very grateful to Fr Kim for his generosity in accepting this additional duty. He will need and appreciate all the support you can give him. Please do keep both Fr Kim and Fr Brian in your prayers. Please also pray for vocations to the priesthood and Religious life that the spiritual and pastoral needs of all our parishes can be provided. I pray that God will continue to guide your parish, enabling it to continue to witness to the Gospel.
