Confirmation

UPDATE

as of 11/Oct/2021

The 2nd session of the 2021-22 Confirmation programme will be held on Sun, 17th Oct.

Parents of children on the programme will find the session link, catechists messages and all other resources on the dedicated webpage.

Registration for the 2021-22 Confirmation programme HAS ENDED. We CANNOT accept any more applications this year.

Confirmation is one of the seven Sacraments of the Church. Together with Baptism and the Eucharist it is a Sacrament of Initiation. At Confirmation the candidate is sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and confirms the faith one has received at Baptism and has inherited from the parents and the Godparents.

In the Diocese of Westminster it is recommended that the candidates are at least 14 years of age (School Year: Year 9) therefore anyone younger than that will be asked to wait until he or she has reached the suitable age.

Children seeking confirmation but who will turn 18 years old by Easter are requested to look at the Adult Confirmation webpage.

Registration is done in the summer for a that course runs from September to May with the Sacrament being conferred at the Westminster Cathedral.
