Confirmation

Confirmation is one of the seven Sacraments of the Church. Together with Baptism and the Eucharist it is a Sacrament of Initiation. At Confirmation the candidate is sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and confirms the faith one has received at Baptism, fortified in the Holy Eucharist and has inherited from the parents and the Godparents.

In the Diocese of Westminster it is recommended that the candidates are at least 14 years of age (School Year: Year 9) therefore anyone younger than that will be asked to wait until he or she has reached the suitable age.

The preparation course runs from September to May with the Sacrament being conferred at the Westminster Cathedral.

Registration opens in the summer (Jun/Jul). Announcements will be made after Sunday Masses and will be published in the Parish Newsletter a week or two prior. When registration begins, an online registration form will be made available at the bottom of this page.

Registration for the 2023-24 programme began on 25th June 2023 and ended on 30th July 2023. Registration for the 2024-25 programme is expected to open sometime in Jun 2024; please look at the parish newsletter for an announcement on the actual dates nearer to the time.

Regrettably, we are unable to admit candidates outside the registration period.

Children seeking confirmation but who will turn 18 years old by Easter next year are requested to look at the Adult Confirmation webpage.
