On Sunday 30th November, the 1st Sunday of Advent, the annual youth Mass in Rickmansworth took place. The Church was full with families, who were welcomed by members of the parish youth group, and the liturgy was beautifully enhanced with the voices of our parish youth choir, young people reading and bringing up the offertory. The highlight of the Mass was the awarding of St Stephen Medals to 8 of our Altar Servers, and the awarding of blue and gold cinctures to others for their long-term service in our parishes. There were 19 Altar Servers at the Mass which led to a rather long procession!
Also at the Mass was displayed some artwork produced by our Parish Youth Group for a competition by Westminster Youth ministry in the Year of Hope. Their entry came runner up in the competition which included entries from across the diocese. Congratulations to our Youth Group for their entry!
The Mass was followed by pizza and activities led by some of our Young Adult Group in the parish hall. It is wonderful to see so many young people and their families engaged with our parishes and we thank them for their service in so many different ways.
