Our Mission – Evangelisation
EVANGELISATION diagram v3 17 May 2023v2
Although “Evangelisation” might sound like a scary word, everyday actions by us all will help us to progress as a parish with our Parish Mission.
Also, you are welcome to join in any of the Parish groups at any time. The names of contacts for all the groups are in the updated Welcome Booklet, available online, in hard copy from the porch, or the porch notice board or contact Dawn at the Parish office. A link the to the updated Welcome booklet)
It is nearly a year since our two longstanding, wonderful Deacons, Paul and Justin, moved from the area and we miss them. We urgently need, for all our Masses, some more support in terms of sacristans, altar servers, eucharistic ministers, readers and Catechists to get involved in our Liturgy and spread the load. We have a new Parish Liturgy group to co-ordinate the planning of our major Masses and training will be provided. Please contact Fr Francis or Dawn, Parish Administrator, to express your interest in these essential roles.
Thank you to all those already involved in the Parish and we look forward to hearing from new members and those returning after a break.

We congratulate the following elected Officers of Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
Chair – Christine Lambert
Vice-Chair – Elizabeth Lizzio
Secretary – Maureen Kelly
We welcome all Members to the PPC who will work together with the support of the whole Parish for the greater glory of God. (Click on the photo of the PPC members below to enlarge it)
An initial task is for the PPC to consider the 5 priority focus areas outlined by Fr Francis to establish a definition, remit and likely activities of each as well as links to existing groups and activities.
The five priority areas are:
- Building Community
- Social Justice
- Spirituality
- Youth
- Ecumenism
The Finance Group and a new Parish Maintenance Group support the fabric of the Parish as well as its mission and are represented on, and will work alongside, the PPC.
Mark James will co-ordinate the Parish Maintenance Group, taking over from Eamon Rafferty who we thank sincerely for his magnificent contribution over the last few years.
Please see the Minutes of the PPC Meeting held on 18 January 2021: Action Minutes 21.01.18
The next meeting of the PPC is on 16 February 2021.
We welcome all suggestions from Parishioners and at the moment the easiest way to share these would be via the Parish Pastoral Council email: stalbanssouthpcc@rcdow.org.uk
October 2020:
